Beth yw Cynllun Ysgolion Iach Môn?
Mae Cynllun Ysgolion Iach Ynys Môn yn cefnogi ysgolion yr ynys i gyfrannu’n bositif tuag at iechyd a lles eu disgyblion, athrawon a’r gymuned ehangach drwy ddatblygu amgylchedd sy’n hyrwyddo iechyd.
Mae wedi ei selio ar y bartneriaeth rhwng addysg ac iechyd ac yn cael ei gefnogi ac ariannu gan Llywodraeth Cynulliad Cymru. Anglesey’s Healthy Schools Scheme supports the island’s schools to contribute positively towards the health and welfare of their pupils, teachers and the wider community by developing an environment that promotes health.
It is based on a relationship between health and education and is supported and funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
Mae i’r cynllun 9 amcan ynghyd â digwyddiad hybu iechyd blynyddol. Mae ysgolion yn cymryd oddeutu 3 blynedd i gwblhau’r amcanion, ac yn dewis 3 y flwyddyn.
Rhestrir isod amcanion y cynllun ysgolion iach. Am wybodaeth bellach ar bob nod, dilynwch y linciau yn y llyw ar yr ochr chwith.
Wrth weithio tuag at ddatblygu ethos ‘ysgol iach’, dylai ysgolion: 1. Cynhwysiad cymunedol
Sefydlu cysylltiadau gyda’r cartref, y gymuned, a gwasanaethau arbenigol perthnasol, a thrwy hynny bwysleisio gwir bartneriaeth i ddod yn ysgol sy’n hybu iechyd. 2. Bwyta'n iach

Mae’n rhaid i ysgolion gwblhau amcan 1 yn ystod y flwyddyn gyntaf ond maent wedyn yn rhydd i ddewis unrhywrai o’r amcanion eraill. Argymhellir bod ysgolion yn dethol amcanion sy’n cyflenwi eu cynllun gwaith. Yn y ffordd hon daw’r cynllun yn rhan gyfunol o’u bywyd dyddiol.
Gofynnir i ysgolion gadw portffolio o dystiolaeth bob blwyddyn. Bydd hwn yn cynnwys dogfennau y bydd ysgolion yn eu cadw yn naturiol ee llythyrau i rieni, ffotograffau o ddigwyddiadau, cofnodion cyfarfodydd ayyb.
Ar ddiwedd y flwyddyn os yw’r ysgol a’r cydlynydd yn hapus bod amcanion wedi eu cyflawni bydd asesydd allanol yn ymweld â’r ysgol. Bydd yr asesydd yn edrych drwy’r portffolio ac yn trafod y gwaith sydd wedi digwydd i ddilysu bod y safon wedi ei chyrraedd. Cyflwynir plac i’r ysgolion wedi cwblhau bob blwyddyn. Wedi cwblhau’r amcanion bydd ysgolion yn parhau i weithio ar y cynllun drwy gynnal yr amcanion a’u datblygu ymhellach. Parheir i gydnabod ysgolion am y gwaith hwn a pharheir â’r broses i dderbyn placiau pellach.
Mae’r cydlynydd ysgolion iach yn cefnogi ysgolion drwy gydol y cynllun ac yn ymweld yn rheolaidd. Mae gwybodaeth genedlaethol ddiweddar yn cael ei hestyn ymlaen i ysgolion drwy hyfforddiant a digwyddiadau.
What is the Anglesey Healthy Schools Scheme? Anglesey’s Healthy Schools Scheme supports the island’s schools to contribute positively towards the health and welfare of their pupils, teachers and the wider community by developing an environment that promotes health.
It is based on a relationship between health and education and is supported and funded by the Welsh Assembly Government.
The scheme has nine aims plus an annual health promotion event. Schools take approximately three years to complete the aims, and choose three a year.
The aims of the healthy schools scheme are listed below. For further information on each individual aim, please follow the links in the left hand navigation.
Whilst working towards developing a healthy school, schools should: 1. Community involvement
Establish strong links with the home, community, and relevant specialist services, thus emphasising a real partnership in becoming a health promoting school. 2. Healthy eating
Encourage the provision of healthy meals and snacks for pupils and staff - and for visitors where appropriate. 3. Healthy workplace
Develop as health promoting workplaces which demonstrate concern for the well-being of ALL staff. 4. Emotional health and well-being
Recognise the importance of self-esteem and take steps to promote the mental health of ALL pupils. 5. Safe environment
Demonstrate a commitment to the enhancement of the school environment - a SAFE environment which is conducive to the promotion of good health. 6. Health and fitness activities
Actively encourage staff and pupils to take part in health related activities. 7. Smoke-free schools
Become a smoke-free school. 8. Drug education
Have an operational drug prevention policy, supported by a drug education programme. 9. Sex and relationships education
Show commitment to sex-education by having a policy and planned education programme. 10. Health promotion
Participate in a significant health promotion event/initiative and evaluate the effect of the initiative on the school.
Schools must complete aim one during the first year but are then free to choose any of the other aims. It is recommended that schools select aims that compliment their scheme of work. In this way the scheme becomes an integral part of their daily life.
Schools are asked to keep a portfolio of evidence every year. This will include documents that schools naturally keep eg letters to parents, photos of events, minutes of meetings etc.
At the end of the year if the school and co-ordinator are happy that aims have been achieved an external assessor visits the school. The assessor looks through the portfolio and discusses the work that has taken place to verify that the standard has been attained.
A plaque is presented to the schools after completing each year.
After completing the aims schools continue working on the scheme by sustaining the aims and developing them further. Schools continue to be acknowledged for this work and continue the process to receive further plaques.
The Healthy School Co-ordinator supports schools throughout the scheme and visits regularly. Up to date national information is passed on to schools through training and events.
